Movies containing deep psychological meaning (or a series of films with pre-determined shared subject) are selected
and subsequent to approval by Ministry of Ershad are shown. A TPI Faculty Member or Instructor or a Visiting Instructor
will engage in a psychoanalytic discussion of the movie. Lastly questions from the public and a discussion will ensue.
The goal of such meetings is to identify human beings’ deep internal and psychic issues, to be exposed to determinants
of mental health, and to touch life’s songs.
The duration of this program is three to three and a half hours. In the beginning the Chairperson of the Psychoanalysis
for the Public Committee or a well-known person in the field of Cinema or Theatre will make a ten-minute introduction:
names of the movie, director and artists, the artistic and professional location of the movie from a cinematic point of
view, and a summary of the psychological points that may be worthy of consideration by the public are presented.
Then the movie is shown, which is followed by a 15-minute break. Subsequently the analyzer of the film gives his or
her analytic understanding for 30 minutes. At the last 30 minutes the public is invited to ask questions and express their
opinions.
